Old west legends, world class skiing, and perfect summer's for pickleball and tons of other outdoor activities... that's Steamboat. We're super excited to include this awesome town as part of our Rocky Mountain Pickleball Tournament Series. The STEAMBOAT CLASSIC will include players from the strong local pickleball community, as well as players from around Colorado and the rest of the country. After all, spending a few summer days in the beautiful Colorado rockies, playing pickleball, doesn't take too much convincing!

Our host venue is the beautiful Tennis Center at Steamboat Springs. The tournament will use the Center's awesome outdoor courts, surrounded by magnificent scenery. This will be a special tournament you don't want to miss. Tournament play will take place on July 6th & 7th.

Tournament & Player Info

Tournament Fees: $45 Registration Fee + $5 Referee Fee | $10 Per Event Fee

Events: Ladies & Men's Singles, Ladies & Men's Doubles, Mixed Doubles

USAPA Membership: Players must be members of the USAPA prior to tournament registration. To renew or become a member use this link to the USAPA website:

Registration: The tournament will be accepting on-line registration & payments ONLY. Players must do so through this website by clicking the registration link above.

Registration Dates: Player registration is currently open.

Payments & Waivers: All payments and waivers MUST be paid and signed when registering. 

Cancellations | Refunds: This is a NO-REFUND tournament. Following registration, we are sorry however no refunds will be provided. 

Referees: The tournament has been sanctioned by the USAPA. As a USAPA/IFP Sanctioned Tournament, referees will be officiating all medal matches. Referees will adhere to all USAPA Rules and guidelines. Players are invited to serve as referees and also attend one of the planned referee training sessions prior to the tournament date. If interested, please contact RMP for dates and signup.

Tournament Check-in: Following the registration dead-line, bracket ladders and schedules will be determined, together with preliminary start times and court assignments. PLEASE NOTE that the initial times and courts may change, so keep checking as the tournament date gets closer.

On the tournament days, all players MUST check-in a minimum of 30 minutes prior to their scheduled match time. If a player has not done so, they may be disqualified and forfeit their match. The Check-in Desk will be located at the tournament's main entrance and well marked. 

Clinic/Demo Day: Friday, July 5th, will feature multi-skill level clinics taught by the resident pros at The Tennis Center. Following confirmation, updates and specifics will be posted on this site. Players and visitors are also encouraged to grab a little court time trying out some of the newest paddles on the market, being made available by our awesome paddle Sponsors (Selkirk, Vulcan, Paddletek and Franklin).

Medals: Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be presented to winners and runner-up positions in all events played.

Photography & Videography: Rocky Mountain Pickleball is pleased to have contracted with a professional photo/video team to offer their services to individual players and teams. Their available services will include court-side photography, as well as aerial photo and video work. This is an exciting way of creating some special memories of the event and your play.

Give A Paddle Campaign: This cool program provides used pickleball paddles to individuals and organizations who may not otherwise be introduced to our sport. Your donation of a paddle you may not need or no longer use provides a special opportunity to grow and promote our sport. Rocky Mountain Pickleball offers these paddles to a variety of charitable organizations and individuals who will put them to good use. If you've got an extra paddle laying around, we'd welcome your donation at the tournament's Event Desk. Volunteers: This important group of people are on-site to assist players and spectators with general information and directions. They'll be easy to spot, wearing neon orange t-shirts with "Volunteer" printed on them. They're all awesome people, so thanks in advance for giving them the respect and appreciation they deserve.

Location & Directions: Steamboat is located approximately 3 hours driving time from Denver and DIA. Basically head west on I-70 (approximately 20 miles), then take exit 205 (Silverthorne) / CO 9 South, staying on this highway for about 100 miles. The Tennis Center at Steamboat Springs is located at: 2500 Pine Grove Rd. Steamboat Springs, CO 80487.

It may sound like a lot of driving, but the scenery is truly Colorado beautiful and time on the road passes quickly. You'll pass some very cool old barns, on acres of open pastures... surrounded by Rocky Mountain peaks. While taking in the scenery, PLEASE watch out for bicyclists! It's a popular road for them, so share it and be aware. Thanks.
